Sangal Sohal is a beautiful and a modern day village situated in the famous Jalandhar district, right on the Jalandhar – Kapurthala Road, 7 kilometers from Jalandhar. The holy place of Baba Bhai Mula Ji has a beautiful Gurudwara erected upon it, and it is the centre around which the entire village revolves. Not only this, Dargah Baba Faja ji, Mata Salani’s Mandir, Gurudwara Guru Ravi Das and shrines at Baba Karam Singh ji and Bhai Puran Singh ji are also located in this village and are worshiped by one and all. People of all religion and castes stay together in harmony and celebrate each and every Gurupurab and festival with great pleasure. Facilities such as Axis Bank, Vikram Marriage Palace, Nivia Charitable Hospital, Seth Hukam Chand Public School (CBSE Syllabus), Indian Oil Petrol Pump, Toyota Showroom, Satluj Body Welder (for Luxury Buses) are also available in this “pind”. Basic amenities such as education, health and water is provided in the village through its elementary school, playgrounds and a stadium for the old and young alike and a huge water tank which supplies water in other villages as well. A 22 feet wide road goes throughout the village. Baba Bhai Mula Sports Club, Sangal Sohal holds kabaddi and volleyball tournaments every year to inspire the upcoming generation to go towards sports and fitness. A major portion of the residents of this village reside in Dubai, USA, Canada, UK, Australia and in many Europe countries and are doing great business due to which they have contributed largely towards the modernization of Sangal Sohal. This is done by providing a sewage system in the entire village, converting the shamshan ghat from an eerie place to a park where people can gather also, transforming the dusty streets into interlocked and well-functioning streets, providing a beautiful entrance (gate) and a bus stand, etc. The surprising element here is that all these developments have taken place only and only with the financial help of the residents of this village, settled abroad as well as in the village itself. Almost 20 million rupees have been spent on the progress of Sangal Sohal, however, no contribution has been taken from the government. No parties and politics is played in the village, while many habitants of this village have reached high posts and job positions. This is truly one village to come and watch.
